Mine and Yours is a project where I create paintings inspired by photographs that inspire me. There is no particular type of photo I look for; the idea is fundamentally to illustrate the process of inspiration between artists and creators—the way our ideas are always connected to each other through the desire to capture the world artistically. We are always in a process of exchange when we create art and therefore art is quite literally mine and yours. The title “Mine and Yours” comes from a children’s game in Brazil called “Meu e Seu.” Once the painting is done, I share it with the photographer.
